This video contains all the Brazilian monarchs (Portuguese Kings and Brazilian Emperors) starting at the time of Brazil’s discovery by the Portuguese navigator Pedro Alvares Cabral in 1500 (when the Colonial period started) through Brazilian independence (and the establishment of the Brazilian Empire – 1822) until the unfortunate proclamation of the republic by the Brazilian military, in 1889, thereby ending the greatest era of Brazilian history.

Love for Liberty Triggers my strong Opposition to Noam Chomsky’s Radical Neo-Socialist Worldviews

The communist ideology is based on an unrealistic, lofty and intangible set of goals which has consistently persuaded idealistic intellectuals to create powerful works in support of a so-called valiant effort to conquer the hearts & souls of millions of naïve, well intended individuals. There are many alleged “academics” who have been instrumental acting as agents of tyranny, but none has been as effective as the infamous, self-professed “anarcho-syndicalist” Avram Noam Chomsky, whose large number of essays in economics and political philosophy – many of which with elements of what I classify as “disinformation” (or, deliberately created false data embedded in factual, historical events in order to create dissent) – has contributed to a rising number of activists espousing a clear anti-Western Perspective.

Since Mr. Noam Chomsky’s strong opposition to the Vietnam War - articulated in his essay "The Responsibility of Intellectuals" which was extended in his “American Power and the New Mandarins” – he has become a well-known icon of anti-American libertarianism. An ardent critic of U.S. foreign and domestic policy, Noam Chomsky represents, in my view, one of the very first agents of a radical leftist underground global movement designed to gradually trigger a “mild dissension” among average citizens of Western Nations, with the objective of assisting the main secret agenda of some co-agents - members of international organizations - to beget the establishment of a Global Socialist government, a very dangerous goal which I consider REPUGNANT! Without any doubt, Chomsky is a dedicated activist advocating his self-declared libertarian socialist doctrine, the principles of which are hypocritically perceived as being grounded in the Age of Enlightenment, under the false premise that they embody "the proper and natural extension of classical liberalism into the era of advanced industrial society." Rather, I would contend that Mr. Chomsky’s position promotes the views of the above-mentioned neo-socialist global movement which intends to emulate Hugo Chavez on a global level, in order to take over the command of a future World Government under false liberal premises, thereby redistributing Western wealth whereas dismantling democratic institutions to control and oppress the people into a silent herd of politically compliant automatons!

Mr. Chomsky’s membership of the “Campaign for Peace and Democracy” (a New York-based organization that promotes "a new, progressive and non-militaristic U.S. foreign policy) and the “Industrial Workers of the World” international union (whereby workers should be united as a class and that the wage system should be abolished) not only confirm my above-stated views and his unquestionable position of a dangerous radical who should be monitored, and hopefully, STOPPED! In his published a book on anarchism titled “Chomsky on Anarchism” it has been stated: “Authority, unless justified, is inherently illegitimate and that the burden of proof is on those in authority. If this burden can't be met, the authority in question should be dismantled. Authority for its own sake is inherently unjustified”

Every legitimate humanitarian organization, along with malicious, politically motivated groups, advocating the noble objective of social justice & equality in a world of brotherly inter-cultural cooperation, harmony and peace generally include, less then idyllic agendas which deceitfully conceal the horrific secret agenda of tyrants-in-waiting, many of whom mentally imbalanced and potentially dangerous. Because Socialism invariably ignores or discounts humanity’s imperfect, egotistical and cruel nature, whenever left-wing authoritarian polities take over the reins of nation, the proponents of this devious political philosophy invariably unmask their true colors by oppressing, coercing, controlling, torturing and murdering millions of innocent victims who find themselves prisoners of a society awash with fear and helplessness, which, because of the inevitable and gradual implementation of censorship, is displayed to the world as a Potemkin of satisfied workers who are happily cooperating for the collective goals of socialism…

Consequently, because many strong minded militants and ideologically mobilized scholars support Mr. Noam Chomsky’ standpoint, they are also directly or indirectly supporting a secret umbrella of strongly anti-Western socialist factions. Given his systematic criticism of American foreign policy, primarily for including what he strongly accuses of double standards - preaching democracy and freedom in the one hand, while allying itself with non-democratic and repressive organizations (e.g. Augusto Pinochet), I counter that all major world powers – from ancient and recent history, including the former Soviet Union – could not possibly avail themselves of occasionally sacrificing fundamentally crucial long term national interest for temporary moral sacrifices, where one must reluctantly cast a blind eye towards questionable events where even the most cherished principles appear to have been forsaken. To be sure, the unfortunate need for such disagreeable dichotomies in international affairs are often indispensible in order a government (especially those with regional security obligations) to be poised for the furthering of peace and security throughout civilized society, never forgetting the overriding necessity to pursue whichever pathway that it may be required to fight the most implacable of all enemies: secular and religious totalitarianism (that is, socialism and Islamism).

Ruthlessness has plagued human existence and driven its kind to exponentially greater levels of malignant deeds since the very inception of the species, when Neolithic men slaughtered one another, and managed to eradicate the Neanderthal sub branch of hominids after “stealing” a feeble fraction of their DNA through interbreeding. Although the amount of conflict was relatively inferior to all subsequent eras, possibly due to the
absence of land ownership, there have been sporadic anthropological findings evidencing massive brutality exerted by men upon its own kind. Hence, there is no doubt that the masters of this planet have always been capable of immeasurable cruelty, whereas developing ever more colorful, picturesque euphemisms, during the past few centuries, designed to justify conflicting hidden agendas, while concealing their wicked nature.

A thorough and reflexive analysis of eight millennia of history would suffice to persuade any honest observer that poetry, comedy and philosophy are beautifully conceived tools intended to circumvent and camouflage humanity’s vicious disposition and its dark mission to destroy planet Earth. Under these circumstances, we should conclude that the arts and literature depict scarcely more than the hypocrisy of a sentient species devoted to deliberately oppress its own brethren, while living under the pretense of its conceited, noble concepts.

Utilizing poignant terminology such as “humanism” and “civilization,” mankind has been victorious in a clever campaign to define itself as an intrinsically benign creature. Yet, there is a limit to how much intelligent individuals can be self-deluded
by well-orchestrated social masquerades; thereby cleverly masking from itself the overwhelming burden imposed by implacable mores dictated by the very society it has crafted, in conformity with shallow, unrealistic religious criteria...

Undeniably there are remarkable exceptions - outstanding entities capable of overcoming the innate limitations ordained by human condition, by shedding the rancid foundation of our hearts. These remarkable exceptions epitomize the “virtuous” icons eulogized throughout centuries of civilization, serving as valiant efforts to inspire the masses to rise above the confines of their sordid nature, in a desperate effort to trigger humanity into a new threshold of its evolutionary journey. Yet, this never ending parade of rare, desirable virtues scarcely achieve more than prompting an array of mythological characters in mystically devised allegories, labeled as “miracles” or “commandments” for the public to absorb either as “divine laws” or as comforting badges for better days to come…

Nonetheless, the crux of the matter rests upon the hard fact
that Human ruthlessness is just an inescapable quintessential part of its essence, and only eons of continuous evolution may perhaps permit our species to become something akin to the quaint images of all-loving and almighty gods, in very distant future. Yet, I daresay that because of men’s innate drive to incalculable atrocities, incapable of quenching their unstoppable thirst for blood, never heeding the brutality committed by their forefathers, there is scarcely any effort to heed history’s lessons and attempt to rectify unforgivable errors. To be sure, mankind has always been irreparably oblivious to past blunders, blindly obsessed with power and mercilessly deceptive, thereby assuring its own inevitable downfall. Unfortunately, it seems unlikely that it may ever be capable of swerving from the current trail, and shall continue trotting along this atrocious pathway until the glorious moment when, as a gift to the Universe, it succeeds in eliminating the very last vestige of its pointless, fleeting presence from the surface of its home planet.

If only the Neanderthal men had emerged victorious and inherited the Earth to develop its own civilization, perhaps the planet would have had a gentler, kinder history over the past twenty two millennia, thereby affording this blue spec to keep on hovering, with abundant life across the infinity of time-space continuum.

THE INCOMPATIBILITY OF MYTHOLOGICAL BELIEFS WITH EVERLASTING PEACE ON EARTH

The key to a lasting peaceful coexistence on Earth possibly hinges upon the elimination of primitive, hate inspiring religious sects from the fabric of human societies. In fact, the outcome of such valiant endeavor might actually represent the quintessential factor upon which the very survival of our species hinges, while our determination to strive towards its successful completion would epitomize the notion of collective worthiness. Whilst such an extraordinary undertaking would demonstrate our capacity to evolve into a higher plane of existence, where Earth’s dominant species would be finally poised to reach the stars, its price tag today appears beyond our reach given the magnitude of the combined efforts required. Irrefutably, unless mankind splinters its multiple shackles of voluntary servitude, by completely undermining the global subservience to whimsical divine entities, thereby suppressing incongruous dogmatic beliefs imposed by “modern mythological sects”, this noble task is unlikely to ever be attained.

In essence, the existing myriad of so-called “religious institutions” deprive humanity of the ability to question fabled principles or legendary tenets, which might empower individuals to systematically challenge the validity of ancient tales and flippant allegories contained in archaic scrolls, many of which may have been possibly altered by theological scholars during the Middle Ages. They hold sway of our minds, depicting horrific visions of Hades with everlasting punishment. Furthermore, they virtually tend to categorize independent thought as blasphemous, whereas labeling its cohorts as heretic. Under these appalling circumstances, because the remaining primitive sects invariably contain significant groups of clashing concepts – related to tales of creationism as well as “divine commandments” - not to mention various types of “sins” - the notion of “guilt” was firmly ingrained in the human psyche in order to prevent disobedience, lest it might weaken or even sever their controlling tentacles.

Because these powerful organizations emerged and successfully held sway over significant cultures in nearly every continent, during a time when mankind lingered in a rather primeval juncture, too naïve and oblivious to the most fundamental scientific principles, these early creeds were in a position to hastily spread across vast regions, thereby establishing legitimacy as the rightful holders of sacred “truth,” and claiming the aptitude of providing the “righteous path” towards a purported state of "salvation." Although many of these sects were often based upon various ancient components of the rich, older Egyptian mythology, time and circumstance eventually elicited the gradual modification of several key details, thereby continuously transforming some core beliefs to the point of rendering them irretrievably divergent, even after many of them underwent dramatic renovation with the advent of monotheism. In essence, the resulting emergence of a growing number of distinct sectarian doctrines, set forth the source of a substantial number of conflicts due to cultural intolerance and religious warfare. To be sure, many antagonizing, irreconcilable postures are ultimately rooted upon the existence of distinctive primary belief systems that have been dividing men everywhere into opposing groups of “devout followers” and “wicked infidels”. Such deep-seated cleavage in turn triggered the gruesome concepts of blasphemy and apostasy, along with increased oppression, mass-exterminations and indescribable human suffering.

Given the multitude of contradictory philosophies (ideologies), any deeper analysis of current and historical conflicts will surely reveal that these fundamental and irreconcilable religious distinctions are generally the root cause of the overwhelming majority of bloody conflicts and fratricide wars across our planet. Undeniably, because during key periods of our known history, most religious establishments were either led or influenced by clever or deviant clerics, priests and imams - poised to manipulate “faithful believers” – our past is filled with innumerable episodes of tremendous suffering, torture, and slaughter of millions of innocent victims!

Interestingly, there are misguided intellectuals who advocate the idyllic notion whereby “the key to peaceful contentment lies in opening the symbols of the world's religions to everyone,” stressing a misconceived notion that sacred objects would "miraculously" provide the necessary strength for some individuals to attain "inner peace," and perform astonishing feats - often classified as “miracles”. While modern science remains unable to fully explain the source of some intangible talents, despite the accelerating inflow of significant discoveries, it is clear that the human brain is capable of inestimable accomplishments and represents the actual source of extraordinary skills to individuals with the innate capability of executing remarkable feat. When these exceptional people access certain unidentified areas of the brain, they may occasionally demonstrate unusual “talents”. Because some of these amazing exploits were observed, across the ages, by primitive societies, they have been historically portrayed as “miracles” based upon blind faith, and often also manipulated or exaggerated by medieval scholars, given mankind’s earlier inability to apply logic and scientific methodology.

Only the prevalence of sheer ignorance systematically sustains the validity of absurd legends and superstitious mores, endorsing and/or enhancing the ability of primitive existing sects to hold sway over vast segments of every society on Earth. Because this disagreeable condition still afflicts billions of people, who are unable to embrace logic over myth, dozens of religious institutions continue with the necessary power to influence or dominate the human mind. Hence, in light of their countless opposing dogmas, taking advantage of persistent ignorance worldwide, various mythological creeds will regrettably continue eliciting hatred among nations, thus representing the ultimate source of so much misery, injustice and conflict among the cultures of our troubled planet.

As if so much bickering over absurd allegorical symbolism and meaningless discussions over intangible issues or outrageous public rallies demanding the death of religious opponents would ever justify so much effort, pain and energy, let alone the loss of innocent human life… There is no limit to the extent of human folly and ruthlessness!

According to EPOCA magazine, the Brazilian president – Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva - made a frightening pronouncement during a recent visit to the city of Recife (the capital of his home state, where he is allegedly considered a sort of "semi-god"):

"I have considered establishing a strong body, where all forces that have supported us, would be duly merged; thereby ensuring that “we the people” never again permit that a future president suffer as much as I have…”

Because the report from the above-mentioned Brazilian magazine covers a topic I have analyzed during the past several months, I believe that this frightening declaration may have been released by President Lula by accident, thereby providing an excellent insight into the real (macabre) intentions of the socialist government which Dilma Rousseff is likely to establish… Hence, I am convinced that this extremist candidate will consider adopting measures and embracing policies that would be significantly more radical than those implemented during the past eight years, given her certified association with a brutal revolutionary group (responsible for a slew of unforgivable terrorist crimes) during the military regime (1960’s), and the inescapable support she receives from Hugo Chavez.

Using the wise words of the same Brazilian publication, the actual intention of PT would be the establishment of an anesthetized democracy, which would institute a people’s " POLITICAL ORGANISM " designed to neutralize the Brazilian National Congress, thereby implying that the existing democratic rules were no longer satisfactory; in its stead one would consider adopting a "direct link" of the executive power to the “masses” in order to "defuse” the powers of the Senate, which today continues as one of the few institutions capable of providing an effective counterbalance to an increasingly authoritarian central government, as it remains capable of stopping some of the dangerous actions originating from PT officials.

Consequently, the customary Brazilian political apathy is likely to cost us, this time, an extraordinarily high price, because as soon as the Brazilian people blindly permits the gradual positioning of totalitarian currents, we shall be automatically deprived of the precious gem called “FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION”, which several young Brazilians probably take for granted, and the permanent loss of which most of them seem unable to actually conceive… Nonetheless, a brief casting of the eyes towards a northwesterly direction (Caracas) would be sufficient for any reasonable Brazilian to see how much has been dismantled and/or destroyed by the deceptive and oppressive Hugo Chavez since 1998, when he was originally elected under false pretences. Indeed, as soon as he censured the Venezuelan newspapers and silenced the TV networks, this totalitarian ruler instantly started strengthening governmental control over all political, economic and social aspects of his country, while restricting or eliminating the remaining democratic institutions, in conformity with GRAMSCI’s radical methodology (which prescribes the necessity of a peaceful formation of “non-military dictatorships” in a peaceful, legitimate and democratic fashion in order for any nation to successfully establish a Socialist State).

Therefore, due to the typical political inertia of the Brazilian citizenry, the political parties of the loyal opposition, and various municipal, state and federal institutions/organization across the Federation, along with the disciplined and obedient silence of the "new Armed Forces" (duly infiltrated and manipulated by the governing party during the past eight years), the deceptive government of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva wisely utilized the entirety of his mandate to set up the "initial phase" of a clever and discrete plan, in conformity with São Paulo Forum’s secret agreements. As the election of Dilma Rousseff becomes an indisputable fact, this catastrophic event will indubitably trigger the Final Phase of PT's diabolical objectives, the implementation of which will almost inevitably steal the democratic process and the freedom of expression from the Brazilian people, thereby transforming our free, joyous nation into yet another collective trap of oppression,
intimidation, and hardship to everyone…

On a closing personal note, my bleeding heart is crying for the loss of Brazil, my family and dear friends at the hands of totalitarianism!

De acordo com a revista ÉPOCA, durante uma recente visita do presidente do Brasil a cidade de Recife (onde ele é supostamente considerado um “semi-deus”), o incumbente fez um assombroso pronunciamento a respeito das planejadas reformas politicas de seu questionável partido politico, entre as quais a seguinte declaração publica:

"Penso em criar um organismo muito forte, juntando todas essas forças que nos apoiam, para que nunca mais a gente possa permitir que um presidente sofra o que eu sofri."

Ademais, alem desta assustadora declaração representar um tema que analisei durante varios meses, que recentemente fora confirmado pela Revista mencionada acima, e a qual acredito haja sido acidentalmente divulgada, considero este assunto como uma excelente introvisão no universo de macabras intenções do futuro governo socialista (PT) que Dilma Rousseff formaria. Portanto, estou convencido de que esta candidata extremista estaria disposta a aprofundar medidas e radicalizar atitudes tomadas durante os últimos oito anos, devido a sua constatada associação com um perigoso grupo revolucionário (responsável por inúmeros crimes que considero imperdoáveis) durante sua juventude na epoca do governo militar, conjuntamente seu inescapavel apoio de Hugo Chavez.

Usando as sabias palavras desta mesma revista brasileira, a verdadeira intenção do PT seria a criação de uma democracia anestesiada, onde estabelecer-se-ia um "Organismo Politico" popular com o objetivo de neutralizar o congresso nacional. A concepçao de tal organismo sugere que, para o partido do presidente brasileiro, as existentes regras democráticas não serviriam mais; em seu lugar, adotar-se-ia uma "ligação direta" da ala executiva (presidência) ate as massas populares, com o objetivo de "neutralizar o senado, o qual ainda permanece efetivamente capaz de bloquear algumas das perigosas ações “PT-istas”.

Conseqüentemente, a tipica apatia politica brasileira desta vez nos custaria um preço excessivamente alto, pois no momento em que o povo permitir a gradativa criação de correntes totalitárias, estaremos todos a nos deprivar da preciosa perola chamada LIBERDADE DE EXPRESSÃO, a qual muitos jovens brasileiros provavelmente assumem ser um direito tão automático, pois muitos deles seguramente não concebem a possibilidade de perde-la... Não obstante, bastaria apenas lançar os olhos na direção noroeste, para que qualquer brasileiro sensato possa constatar tudo aquilo que o opressivo ditador venezuelano desmantelou e destruiu desde 1998, quando fora eleito pela primeira vez sob falsas intenções. Assim que ele censurou os jornais e silenciou as estações de televisão na Venezuela, logo começou a fortalecer seu controle sobre todos os aspectos políticos, econômicos e sociais de seu pais, enquanto restringia ou eliminava todas as instituições democráticas de acordo com a metodologia radical de Gramsci (o qual prescrevera a necessidade de pacificamente estabelecer "ditaduras não militares" iniciadas de maneira democrática e legitima).

Para concluir a fase final deste tenebroso esquema, assim que "o partido" conseguir silenciar a mídia domestica, e sentir-se livre dos prévios empecilhos proporcionados pelas destruídas instituições democráticas, o poderoso presidente da republica continuaria fortalecendo sua autoridade, especialmente se puder continuar contando com amplo apoio popular; em cujas circunstancias, poucos críticos e dissidentes atrever-se-iam a levantar quaisquer questões sobre atos governamentais duvidosos , tal como na Venezuela, devido a existência das "massas" populares radicalizadas que podem ser convocadas a qualquer instante, e que seriam convocadas na continuação da revolução bolivariana, que no Brasil constituiriam, de forma robusta, o "organismo politico" sugerido pelo presidente Lula em Recife. Tal poderoso organismo seria quase certamente liderado por um movimento como o MST, o qual essencialmente poderia ignorar quaisquer leis que, devido a passagem de um certo "projeto-lei de direitos humanos (pois seus membros se encontrariam fora do alcance da policia), e transformar-se-ia assim numa poderosíssima MILICIA POPULAR que reconheceria apenas a autoridade da presidência da republica.

A partir deste triste momento para a nossa nação, uma coligação our fusão de partidos esqueridistas cosolidariam seu dominio completa sobre a Republica Federativa do Brasil, assim efetivamente e formalmente implantando a Ditadura Civil de Esquerda almejada hoje pelo PT, de maneira que o poderoso líder (ou oligarquia politica) executivo(a) poderia virtualmente criar, confiscar, intimidar, aprisionar e restringir qualquer outro aspecto social, politico e econômico do pais.

Por conseguinte, devido a inercia dos cidadãos brasileiros, dos partidos políticos de oposição, e dos vários órgãos municipais e estaduais da federação, conjuntamente com o silencio obediente e disciplinado das "novas forças armadas" (sabiamente infiltradas e manipuladas através de um gradual processo de controle do PT), o deceptivo governo do presidente Luiz Inácio da Silva - seguindo acordos secretos multilaterais do Foro de São Paulo - utilizou "a fase inicial" de seus oito anos de governo para discreta- e gradativamente implementar a primeira fase deste longo e discreto plano. Se a eleição quase inevitável da ex-terrorista candidata do PT - Dilma Rousseff – tornar tal pesadelo numa infernal realidade, tal evento catastrófico iria indubitavelmente desencadear a Fase Final deste plano diabólico, cuja execução roubaria o processo democrático e a liberdade de expressão do povo brasileiro, assim transformando nosso país lindo numa outra prisão coletiva de opressão, intimidação e sofrimento para todos...

The Anguished Essays - CONTEMPLATION OF DECEPTION

The Anguished Essays were created with the purpose of eventually hold a series of personal Poems and general essays which would convey the enormous suffering which "the gods" have bestowed upon Humanity across the ages, perhaps as penitence for its incalculable sins and cruel deeds... Yet upon completion of "The Contemplation of Sorrow" (the first poem I wrote), in 2005, I left it shelved for a number of years. Nonetheless, in April 2010, I was persuaded to convert this poem into my first video, bearing the same tittle: "Contemplation of Sorrow"..

In light of the unexpected feedback received in Youtube, also due to the encouragement of my wonderful virtual friends, I decided to create a second poem, fairly in line with the original, thereby enabling me to establish my intended "collection". This time around, however, I have converted my new work into a video immediately thereafter (May 2010), thereby formalizing the collection i had endeavored to undertake - Under the same series "ANGUISHED ESSAYS" and following the same style & pattern - hoping to partly emulate my previous relative "success", I uploaded the Contemplation of Deception with the "high expectation" of meeting with the approval of my readers and Youtube friends/subscribers.

Unlike the first poem of the series however, which was created on account of a personal matter, the CONTEMPLATION OF DECEPTION has three underlying themes:
1 - DENIAL OF THE WESTERN WORLD'S SO-CALLED "IDEALIZED LOVE", which, in my opinion represents a cruel fallacy...
2 - A CRITICISM OF CORPORATE ARROGANCE", namely, the hypocritical random policies often adopted by huge conglomerates, allegedly designed to comply with certain regulations, which however baffle and /or confound their customers and users, whereas rendering them captive victims of an exceedingly complex web of circular and subjective instructions.
3 - A CRITICISM OF DECEPTIVE LATIN AMERICAN GOVERNMENTS, WHOSE DECEPTIVE AND POPULIST TACTICS MANIPULATES HUGE SECTORS OF THE ELECTORATE, PARTICULARLY THE LEAST EDUCATED AND LESS PRIVILEGED MEMBERS OF THEIR NATIONS (SPECIFICALLY I REFER TO THE BOLIVARIAN MOVEMENT OF THE VENEZUELAN SOCIALIST DICTATOR HUGO CHAVEZ AND THE BRAZILIAN LABOR PARTY OF THE DECEPTIVE, UNEDUCATED LUIZ INACIO DA SILVA (LULA) AND HIS HORRIFIC EX-REVOLUTIONARY PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE DILMA ROUSSEFF.

- Criticism of LOVE: Due to Trovadorism during the Middle Ages (France & Portugaliza - currently Portugal & Galicia). Because of these early highly idealized romantic notions, most citizens of the Western World are held hostage of non-existent notions of Romantic Love - throughout their lives - by virtue of their being influenced by glamorized scenarios, and reaching the point of developing the "GREAT EXPECTATIONS" of one day "reaching Nirvana" by achieving such unrealistic states of "Eternal Bliss". In my Poem, Hades, the God of the Underworld, being aware of the non-existence of the idyllic notion of "romantic interludes", fully aware that only LUST and PASSION actually rule the hearts of Men, decides to take advantage of the situation in order to secure a long coveted commodity: "the possession of Aphrodite". Thus, Hades fabricates the "assassination of LOVE" with the assistance of a myriad of entities, and captures the lovely Goddess, rendering his "prisoner", by illegally accusing her of murdering "a non-existent entity".

Will Brazilians Elect a Pro-Bolivarian Former Terrorist as President?

Bearing in mind that the dominant species of our planet consists of blemished human beings, one should always take into account the innumerable flaws which are unfortunately inherent to its very nature: the selfish pursuit of individual interests regardless of cost/consequences; the ability to disguise imperfections; the penchant to deceive others (attempting to portray personal gains as altruistic deeds); the proclivity towards lying and deceiving; the deplorable aptitude for injustice and cruelty. Likewise, one should never forget that humanity's historical record also contains abundant examples of acts of oppression, torture, harassment, and mass murder... Thus, I fail to grasp the underlying logic underpinning scholars, philosophers and idealists who consistently adhere to, and eulogize the so-called benefits of authoritarian political philosophies.

Undeniably, there is a number of social and political stratagems which, when examined strictly on a theoretical basis, are likely to immediately convey superior, admirable and altruistic qualities to most analysts operating without the benefit of additional data, namely, test results pertaining to realistic cases applied and conducted in acceptable and verifiable conditions. On the other hand, many of these academic concepts are sometimes proven impractical or unrealistic when analyzed under certain conditions or when applied to specific scenarios, despite any potential and/or intrinsic theoretical values.

Given the above analytical framework, I must re-affirm my inability to comprehend the rationale prompting many intellectuals to consistently fail to extrapolate what the unavoidably distressing end results deriving from the introduction of Socialism or any other such altruistic, idealistic and authoritarian system would generate in the long run... In essence, by virtue of its ideologically dictated centralism along with its automatic pre-requisite to outlaw opposing viewpoints emerging from alternative segments of society, it is not conceivable that healthy, free and emotionally/materially content societies may ever materialize from any such authoritarian polity.

To be sure, because the imposition of massive censorship within all means of communication automatically sanctions any national and/or regional leader to deliberately conceal flaws, errors, and crimes which may fail to meet with his/her expectations, personal interests or ideological views, the society under consideration would be subjected to potential deception and manipulation. Likewise, because any such leaders would be naturally exposed to any combination of the above-reference human flaws, the citizenry falling under their jurisdiction would be further vulnerable to whimsical caprice, eventual coercive measures, and lack of privacy, along with random interpretation and/or application of their local laws.

Hence, in light of the unavoidable ability to suppress any type of information at will, along with the absence of the mechanisms that allow public scrutiny of a country's political leadership (by opposing factions), societies should always proceed with extreme caution when considering the adoption of Socialist political structures, given its potential costs/threats to its overall citizenry in the long run.

In light of the strength of the preceding arguments, I am astounded by the continued facility whereby certain groups/ segments of (any) society consistently fall prey to astute, manipulative tactics by deceitful, power-hungry hypocrites who successfully pursue and implement factional platforms flaunting banners of an allegedly "democratic," classless, and virtuous SOCIALIST political system. Indeed, despite the availability of copious volumes of historical evidence containing acts of injustice, inefficient production system and excessive abuse/mistreatment of the people, it is mystifying to continuously witness the facility by which deceitful supporters of the Brazilian Workers Party (PT) effectively depict Dilma Rousseff as the logical solution for a "democratic Brazilian republic, whereas concealing her unquestionable ties and ideological connection with the Bolivarian movement of Venezuela's Hugo Chavez.

THE HUGO CHAVEZ' CONNECTION
There is evidence that modern hard-line socialists in Latin America endeavor to portray moderate postures in order to legally secure the necessary power which would enable them, in the future, to be poised for launching legitimate, peaceful “radical revolutions from within” the presidency of their respective countries, as substantiated by the well-known 1998 Univision interview of a “well-intended, moderate Venezuelan presidential candidate.

During this controversial interview, wearing a business suit, Mr. Hugo Chavez amiably reassured the audience that he would never endeavor to remain in power following the initial five-year term, implying respect for his country's democratic institutions, stressing that his decision to become a presidential candidate was based solely upon the objective of "proposing a constitutional reform" designed to address specific outstanding issues of the time; concluding that he would then be "more than happy" to leave office upon termination of the first term or "even earlier".

Likewise, calmly responding to the interviewer's query, Mr. Chavez reaffirmed that he saw no need for nationalization of the mass media, since the sole existing state channel of the time was more than sufficient. Maintaining the bearings of a "moderate candidate from the Left," after confirming that there was no intention of nationalizing anything whatsoever, the deceptive Hugo Chavez successfully conveyed the illusion of a rational, dependable and judicious presidential candidate who had overcome the former proclivities of a young officer who had once failed to trigger a military coup d'état.

In October 2010, the Brazilian people is being asked by the Labor Party (PT) to elect their "recently enhanced", more attractive presidential candidate, Ms. Dilma Rousseff who recurrently goes out of her way to imply reverence for Brazil's democratic institutions along with respect for the opposition parties. Interestingly, there is abundant evidence to the effect that Ms Rousseff has been frequently praised and blatantly supported by the Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez, who often underscores his enormous admiration for a woman he considers a "fellow South American patriot" (thus implying a theoretical co-patriotism for the future South American socialist nation, as envisioned by the São Paulo Forum). In this connection, it should be highlighted that the Venezuelan ruler greatly admires Dilma's "valiant" participation in the shameful, successful stratagem to kidnap an American ambassador to Brazil during the time when the country was under the government of a military regime.

While the PT candidate attempts to conceal or minimize her former status of "subversive" or "domestic terrorist", given her direct unquestionable engagement in kidnappings, assassinations, and bank robberies, this former criminal also makes concerted effort to disguise her growing strategic ties with the totalitarian regime in Caracas (along with increasing terms of personal connection with their "ruler"), even when directly confronted about such liaison by members of the Brazilian media in national television.

As a result, it is appalling and painful to witness one's country of birth, from afar, providing a convicted murderer and kidnapper, who sponsors or defends pending legislation that includes disguised versions of censorship, and maintains excellent relations with the most brutal socialist dictators of Latin America, with the opportunity to become the leader of the nation. Unfortunately, I must question the ability of the naïve members of the Brazilian working class to pay any attention or understand the magnitude of her crimes vis-à-vis the true face of the political party Ms Rousseff represents, notwithstanding its boundless corruption, shameless deceptive tactics and obvious long-term socialist goals.

Under the circumstances, I must regrettably wrap up my assessment with the most disagreeable conclusion that unless something extraordinary emerges to unmask these horrifying hypocritical monsters, our wonderful, peaceful and happy country will join the growing list of doomed nations where oppression, censorship and fear abounds.

THE STRATEGIC POSITIONING OF SECRET (DORMANT) AGENTS BY SOCIALIST DICTATORS-IN-WAITING

Any potential dictator or radical political party surreptitiously aspiring to secure absolute power in Latin America without engaging dramatic popular revolutions, or a military backed coup d’état, must proceed with utmost caution along a fastidiously planned pathway. Regardless of the selected course of action, it would be indispensable for any such ambitious individual or conspiring oligarchy to have available at the twinkling of an eye, recourse to a wide range of deceptive tools, including the strategic positioning of a complex network of “secret special agents” throughout the entire region; with the additional caveat that each of these cautiously implanted operatives must remain “dormant” and inconspicuous for an extended period of time.

One of the most fundamental mechanisms – possibly indispensable for the successful completion of any such ambitious ventures – would comprise the ability of indirectly gathering data, influencing third parties and manipulating key institutions, corporations, the armed forces, in addition to multiple sources of the nation's power and telecommunications grid: the traditional media (Networks / Press) and High-Tech centers (Internet based conglomerates). This essential covert operation would require the installation of inconspicuous, cunning agents with the purpose of playing a virtually invisible role, remaining impartial yet always alert – while in a technically “dormant” condition - within each targeted organization. After securing dependable and efficient lines of indirect communications with the plot’s command center and any additional “contact parties”, every secret operative would be responsible for expeditiously diffusing any vital data that is successfully uncovered: trends, fears and general impressions/expectations from key-members and decision-makers, whereas identifying which members adhere to opposing political philosophies and those liable to become potential “trouble-makers” in the future.

Additionally, for members of this secretive network of Extraordinary Operatives to be in a position to effectively infiltrate any organization, financial institution or Blog, they should preferably refrain from holding prominent / visible positions within their respective assignments (CEO, Military Officer, Member of Parliament, aristocrat, etc), given the unavoidable scrutiny such individuals must generally undergo, as it could potentially pose an unnecessary risk of exposure for the entire scheme. Nonetheless, one would scarcely require the prominence of a major share-holder, military officer, or head of a labor union, in order to demonstrate one's ability to become a successfully dormant political spy... Rather, it would be prudent for these special “players” to portray inconspicuous profiles (such as "a blue-color worker" or a "member of the cleaning staff") whose modest stations if supplemented by agreeable or "shy" personal traits - for instance, a popular “Mr.Nice-Guy” or a relatively recluse individual – would empower all special agents with the necessary invisibility which they may occasionally require to successfully “cover their tracks”, thereby concealing their “true colors.”

These extraordinary agents should be exceptionally clever individuals with the cunning aptitude to influence, manipulate, impersonate and even intimidate previously identified officers or public officials within their assigned arena of operations, where their constant vigilance while in proximity of potentially dangerous / suspicious elements is paramount, whereas always ensuring that vital data be continuously identified and rapidly distributed up to the command chain. Often, such “monolithic spies” may also feel obliged to introduce “moles” of their own creation, designed to antagonize all parties involved, including those who may be safely under their “direct sphere of influence”. The most frequent objectives for elaborating extraordinary, “fake antagonistic personas” include: the occasional necessity to discretely create havoc in order to intimidate opponents, to jettison any undesirable outside force, to distract attention away from other key, unrelated events, or perhaps in to simply punish any follower or supporter who may have either stepped out of line or proven to be too resilient at any given time. Most importantly, these discrete and exceptionally witty elements must forever (or for as long as feasible) maintain the deceptive outlook of an modest, inconspicuous, and completely harmless low-key fellow, whose friendly stance and political neutrality could be maintained, at any point in time, thoroughly indisputable!

Outfitted with a broad array of strategically placed Secret & Discrete Agents, any aspiring dictator and deceptive political party would surely be poised to obtain significant information from a wide variety of sources way ahead of the great majority of his/her countrymen, and before most existing members of opposing factions could manage to assemble and dissect the same – potentially enormous – amount of data. Furthermore, and perhaps most importantly such tyrants-in-waiting would also be poised to indirectly manipulate countless key factors, players, and circumstances, thereby significantly enhancing, in the long run, the chances for such deceptive stratagem send them victorious, securing complete control of their trusting nation.

NEO-SOCIALIST STRATEGY VIS-À-VIS THE FABRIC OF SOCIAL INJUSTICE

The theme of Social injustice valiantly underscored by several Latin American socialists has undoubtedly been afflicting Humanity ever since our ancient Neolithic ancestors gave up their traditional nomadic way of life for the benefits derived from permanent settlements at the banks of rivers and lakes at the dawn of our current civilization circa nine millennia ago. Since the institution of agricultural production gradually evolved from the most rudimentary types where output was equally divided among small settlements of nearly “equal” settlers (primitive communism) into increasingly more sophisticated methods of large scale harvest - required to feed growing populations – mankind was compelled to implement the concept of land ownership, thus embarking upon the long, perilous road towards the ever growing levels of inequality, injustice and oppression of the “Many” by the “Few”.

Because of these monumental changes, the indispensable conditions were set for the rise of the first great civilizations in Summer, Egypt, China and Central America, whereby mankind sowed the foundations a historic, millenary dilemma: the introduction of an underclass of poor peasants/workers continuously exploited, across the ages, by self-indulgent secular and religious minorities owning the means of production. Although the growing wealth of the elites was built, maintained and increased on account of the sacrifices of continuously subjugated masses, they were often held in slavery or serfdom, as wretched “creatures” at the bottom of the social strata.

Despite this dramatic summary of human socio-economic history, it is unnecessary to prescribe to extremist political philosophies in order to concur with valid claims outlined by socialist intellectuals a propos the plight of the oppressed classes and the resulting extreme income disparity, the remarkable distinctions of rights and privilege, and the unfair dissimilarity between a small, overly- indulged group of owners of under-utilized fields versus countless millions of dispossessed laborers.

Notwithstanding historical inequalities and social injustice, any well-intended political activist striving for the elimination of these unacceptable conditions should take a step back and seriously consider the actual outcome of adopting so-called noble ideals containing exceedingly dangerous and deceptive political philosophies lest they might permit logic and wisdom to be blinded by lunacy and raw emotions. In order to avoid the inevitable and incalculable blunders that would surely follow decisions to implement an authoritarian (Leninist) system based on Marxism, well intended revolutionaries and/or decision-makers who are not blinded by obsessive ideology should strive to appraise the long-term results of any such consideration, based on extensive historical data, which would follow a theoretical revolution, namely:

• Establishment of a centralized, governmental body (representing a powerful political oligarchy)
• Suppression of any opposing faction (along with any organization that might be considered reactionary)
• Imposition of censorship in all means of communication (thereby curbing dissemination of all subsequent events)
• Confiscation of all private property (all existing real state, luxury items, arable land and industrial facilities)
• Establishment of Five-Year economic plan (elimination of market forces, estimation of what will be needed)
• Imposition of an official Ideological guideline to which everyone should adhere (including the previously oppressed masses which the revolution allegedly attempts to liberate)
• Adoption of a “free” educational system (with the same previous available resources to be share by every child whereby the quality of such an education would be limited by topics deemed to be in conformity with the previously mentioned ideological guidelines)
• Suppression of free flow of individuals across the national territory

Due to revolutionary measures adopted by the Socialist state,
Sincere and realistic analysis of these unavoidable revolutionary measures, historically adopted by Socialist States, would undeniably demonstrate that, within a few decades, the following scenario would be nearly inevitable.

• Massive amounts of confiscated land/property/luxury items would mysteriously be assigned to the NEW ELITE (the upper echelons of the “Communist Party”), whose privileged members would literally benefit from the use of “state assets” assigned or given as compensation for “services rendered to Socialism”.
o In essence, these “rewards” represent nothing short of formalizing theft (of the previously LEGITIMATE owners by a new (hypocritically labeled “Vanguard”) Group of Party officials’
• Massive lags in production activity resulting from a few subsequent disastrous 5-Year plans responsible for shortages on literally every item, inefficient distribution of goods and massive lines for every product.
o In essence, this impose a multitude of difficulties for the citizenry , as entire families must assign the additional arduous task for individuals to queue for hours in order to purchase basic items (food, shoes, clothing, etc) without any guaranties vis-à-vis the available and/or quality of any such goods.
o Most importantly, such abysmal production system would be nevertheless broadcast as successful ventures meriting praises of the “superior” socialist way of live”.
• The unavoidable appearance of BLACK MARKETS - which although officially classified as “illegal”, would be widely tolerated, as they would benefit the new SOCIALIST elite;
o In essence, this phenomenon would surely trigger a very high but UNOFFICIAL inflation as many items would be available at exorbitant prices (but not considered by official economists)
• Centrally Appointed Local governing bodies would possess nearly absolute authority to implement and interpret a newly established (and so-called “democratic) socialist legal system
o In essence, due to pre-existing personal conflicts, greed, lust, and sheer conceit, multiple cases of coercive methods (blackmail, rape and fabrication of false criminal evidence) along with “theft” of any residual confiscated goods (which could be utilized for compensating Bloc Monitors, black marketers, and extortionists)

As for the original masses of underprivileged peasants and workers whom the “New Socialist State” was supposed to “liberate,” they would continue subsisting with scarcely any improved conditions, since they would also be subject to the very same inefficient and stressful settings introduced by the authoritarian polity holding sway over the new establishment. Essentially, the resulting polity would comprise a National Labor Camp of terrorized citizens collectively enduring the harsh reality of long hours of labor tainted with neglect (given the absence of personal incentives and disagreeable working conditions) followed by considerable additional time spent queuing for scarce, less diverse goods and services, where earning would accumulate with a devalued currency which could not be spent given the near absence of entertainment & products. Moreover, these grim conditions would be worsened by the loss of individual liberties/privacy, exposure to oppressive vigilance and subjection to an unreliable and fiat legal system (a make-shift legal charade), the inefficacy of which would never transpire given the highly censured nature of networks and the press.

Finally, in light of the new “socialist reality”, there would be huge increases in alcoholism among the highly oppressed population – as it constitutes a major (sole) “escape valve” for accumulated frustration, fear and hopelessness, whereas also attempting to compensate for a bleak, pointless existence without entertainment, and devoid of Liberty, thereby scarcely meeting the objectives of original socialist intellectuals which valiantly struggled for the implementation of an unrealistic Socialist Polity of disappointed dreamers and hypocritical ideologues.

THE IMPACT OF ELECTING A SOCIALIST FORMER TERRORIST FOR THE BRAZILIAN PRESIDENCY

There is evidence that modern hard-line socialists in Latin America endeavor to portray moderate postures in order to legally secure the necessary power in order to be poised to launch a legitimate, peaceful revolution from within the presidency of his/her country, as substantiated by a relatively well-known Univision broadcast in 1998. During this controversial interview, wearing a business suit, Mr. Hugo Chavez amiably reassured the audience that he would never endeavor to remain in power after his first five-year term, implying respect for his country’s democratic institutions, stressing that his decision to become a presidential candidate was based upon the sole objective of “proposing a constitutional reform” in order to address specific outstanding issues of the time; concluding that he would then be “more than happy” to leave office after the first term or “even earlier”. Likewise, calmly answering the reporter’s question, he reaffirmed that he saw no need for nationalization of the mass media, since the sole existing state channel of the time was more than sufficient. In October 2010, the Brazilian people is being asked by the Labor Party (PT) to elect their “recently enhanced”, more attractive presidential candidate, Ms. Dilma Rouseff who frequently goes out of her way to imply respect for Brazil’s democratic institutions and respect for the opposition parties. Interestingly, there is no question that Ms Rousseff is often praised and blatantly supported by the Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez, who often goes out of his way to demonstrate his enormous admiration for a woman he considers a “South American Patriot” (thus implying a patriotism for the future South American Socialist Nation sponsored by the Sao Paulo Forum). In this connection, it should be stressed that the Venezuelan Ruler greatly admires Dilma’s “valiant” participation in the kidnapping of an American ambassador to Brazil during the time when the country was being governed by a Military Regime. The Unseen Benefits from 20th Century American Imperialism

Throughout the history of our beautiful, misguided planet, since the rise of the first predominant political-military power, the various ethnic groups inhabiting the surrounding regions invariably grew resentful of ruthless exploitation, cultural imposition, and merciless abuse. Deeply ingrained acrimony inevitably emerged and unavoidably turned into open hostility vis-à-vis the escalation of tyrannical and excessive measures whereby local elites were either eliminated or assimilated, valuable resources appropriated while the general population were oppressed and enslaved.

These vile patterns of political, social and military manipulation have been documented in a wide variety of historical documents in virtually every continent, ranging from Toltec, Egyptian and Roman Empires into the relatively recent Islamic, Iberian and Northern European Kingdoms of the Renaissance and Neo-Classic periods. Yet, ever since the emergence of the liberal concepts of Individualism and Liberty within the British Empire, at the height of Imperial expansion, sophisticated principles of human rights emerged across its vast domains. Most notably, such principles became so significant within its thirteen North American colonies that, when formal political independence was secured, these united states gradually became not only stronger and wealthier, but also a beacon of Liberty and an inspiration to revolutionaries, thereby emerging as an admired global power of a different sort, with noticeably distinct patterns of dominance.

Unlike its imperial predecessors, the United States of America has avoided exerting direct administration over most regions falling under its sphere of influence, and endeavored to play the role of a benign and detached overseer, while providing significant financial and military assistance without necessarily maintaining actual troops in order to flex muscle to protect its national interests. As outlined by the brilliant eighteenth century military strategist Carl Philipp Gottlieb von Clausewitz (1780 – 1831) – Officer of the Prussian Army, Historian, and Military Strategist – International Politics were previously defined strictly as a natural extension of Military Conflicts, undoubtedly the case of Spanish, Dutch and British colonial might. Yet, the rising American imperialists, from the outset of their active involvement in global politics, have demonstrated a remarkable ability to take such principle even further, whereby international economics and financial preponderance actually become an extension of International Politics thereby expanding the levels of their engagement to reinforce overall supremacy, while also providing collective security.

America’s rising wealth and increased military power invariably further ensured its super power status thereby setting off enormous benefits, but with the cost of unexpected bereavement, due to an intangible glamour that transformed its society into a source of either envy or reproach, and a scapegoat for several global issues. Because it became a target of local resentment, international scrutiny and, ultimately, unprecedented hatred within radical segments of distinct totalitarian states, many Americans were suddenly unable to match their values against an unsavory, newly acquired reputation. In essence, the resulting amalgamation of various levels of international antagonism gradually depreciated America's reputation, thus triggering the onset of its current political and economic decline. Perhaps because of their traditional self-image as "fair citizens" of a classless democracy, Americans were never intended to become any sort of imperial overlords, compelled to frequently bypass their Founding Fathers’ noble principles when dealing with inherently corrupt and authoritarian rulers. As a result, the United States of America has inevitably found itself caught up in a vicious web of international intrigue, suspicion and espionage, the resolution of which required embracing ruthless, arrogant and even sporadically cruel schemes in order to secure fundamentally indispensable political and/or military goals.

Notwithstanding its uncomfortable list of reprehensible deeds, when analyzed under the prism of historical imperialistic behavior, the United States easily emerge as the most liberal, permissive and tolerant of all World Powers; for it contributed, for the most part, to the expeditious development of freer, wealthier and healthier societies within its overall economic space. Moreover, by extending a wide network of financial and military facilities in order to enrich and protect its unexpected empire, the governing polities in Washington DC were required to spend incalculable sums in foreign aid, loans and investment, while also extending a vastly complex defensive umbrella throughout its protectorate, thereby automatically affording the necessary climate of peace and security for the continued socio-economic development of its various national components.

Consequently, as it disbursed vast quantities of resources worldwide, to the point of virtually compromising the soundness of its own economy, the United States of America has successfully deterred (and at times prevented) the advance of totalitarian ideals emanating from the extremities of the political spectrum, encouraged international trade – triggering the globalization of the world economy – and guaranteed our collective liberty and financial welfare.

The inevitability of Latin American Polarization: Brazil versus Venezuela

For any political scientist, economist and historian who may not be entirely familiarized with the dynamics of Latin America’s historical legacy and some of the recent issues staining the rosy pictures of cooperation, friendship, and consensus often publicized in the area’s main capitals, it would have appeared that the region could be on the brink of reaching a respectful level of maturity and might even have resolved some serious issues, challenges and conflicts which have plagued many of its countries for nearly two centuries of self-determination. Yet, I fear that any intellectual “neuter observer” would be rather disappointed with the performance of the majority of Latin administrations upon closer examination. Even taking into account the latest global economic crisis and despite the continued economic development undergone in some nations (most notably Chile, Brazil and Mexico), it is clear that, the traditional ghosts of income disparity, regional rivalry, corrupted politicians, authoritarian “rulers”, along with the persistent threat posed by Drug Lords and terrorist organizations remain looming over Latin America’s horizons.

One would also have thought that the establishment of UNASUR and the increased number of smaller regional blocs, such as MERCOSUL, might seriously represent mature regional endeavors to shed differences aside in order to address some of the most important issues (ranging from trade, energy, fresh water and poverty to mutual defense, regional currency and improved infra-structure). Yet, the more one examines some of the current “noble objectives” in closer scrutiny, the more it becomes evident that Brazil and Venezuela will be found running (or attempting to run) the show; each with a completely distinct political agenda, bound to be deemed irreconcilable in the long run.

In addition, since the main economic and political/military organizations established in the region appear to be rather questionable in light of the fashion whereby Caracas and Brasilia appear to view their intended purposes, the embryo of uncertainty has already emerged. Because, MERCOSUL - formed about 25 years ago - included only four members: Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay, while excluding Venezuela, Colombia and Chile, it could be scarcely be considered a fully Regional Pact. Although Venezuela has subsequently applied to join this primarily Southern Cone group, its dubious political intentions vis-à-vis attaining full membership has understandably been prevented by the Legislatures of both Brazil and Paraguay; the Chilean exclusion, clearly an error in light of the health and importance of its economy, was possibly deliberate in light of its long standing disputes with neighboring Argentina and its declared intent to join NAFTA; Colombia’s omission, however, is evident, in view of its close alliance with the United States and insurmountable fiendish stance against Venezuela. As such, because MERCOSUL neither includes nor impacts most of the region’s main economies and because Venezuela is likely to treat MERCOSUL and UNASUR as nearly interchangeable political structures, thereby possibly undermining the both organizations, it seems like additional seeds of discord between Caracas and Brasilia have already been planted.

Yet, there are many other specific factors which appear to highlight the contrasting stance of the two leading Latin American regional powers…

Venezuela has recently established a mini-alliance composed of a growing list of smaller, faithful, and poorer client states (Cuba, Bolivia, Ecuador, Nicaragua and possibly Honduras in the near future) and undoubtedly intends to assume the role of Regional Leading Power. Unlike Cuba during the 20th Century, Venezuela has embraced a relatively more discrete version of Fidel Castro’s revolutionary ideals, currently labeled as “Bolivarian”, but whose ultimate goal is also to spread its radical political-economical ideals throughout the region, thereby transforming Caracas into a 21st Century version of a “Latin Moscow” or “New Havana” of the modern Western Hemisphere…

Brazil, on the other hand, attempting to maintain the self-delusional role of a “Well-Behaved Neighbor” and “Moderate (New) Socialist”, appears to be relatively more discrete in its quest for the role of Latin American Leader. While the “Sleeping Giant” is likely to have a sincere disposition to assist others, its current administration ultimately intends to secure African support and to be perceived by the developed world and the United Nations, as a robust adolescent who has recently reached maturity and is therefore ready to join the Main Group of nations either at the “bottom of a possible G-9” or at least to obtain a permanent seat in the Security Council. Clearly, due to its growing pride and self-delusion, the current administration in Brasilia seems to be determined neither to remain passively watching major global decisions from afar - at a remote UN seat – nor to continue being invited to G-8 meetings merely for having “desert” (using the Brazilian’s president words).

While Breton Woods established the rules for commercial and financial relations among the world's major industrial states in July 1944 thereby establishing the foundations of a healthy western economy for the second half of the 20th Century, the Venezuelan elected dictator appears adamant to reach an equivalent agreement for Latin America today with his plans to establish the Bank of the South (designed to be based in Caracas) in order to allegedly unite the “financial needs” a socialist Latin Brotherhood for the current Millennium. Yet it does not appear to have been substantiated by concrete plans or viable financing for such an elusive Institution; most importantly, I could hardly anticipate any forthcoming believable mechanism to emerge in order to prevent the inevitable series of fraud and misuse of precious resources, which would inevitably surface in the region. Almost certainly, an endless stream of funds and other assets is bound to flow into secrete private accounts of Venezuelan agents entrusted to “finance” electoral campaigns of left-wing candidates across Latin America with the support of La Paz, Quito, Havana and Managua.

Meanwhile the Brazilian and Argentinean presidents seem to be forging ahead with plans to formalize or at least increase the use of local currencies in their bilateral and other regional trade thereby removing the US Dollar as the common monetary unit, allegedly (and officially) on account of their central banks need to strengthen cross-border operations without serious consideration for their historically dramatic fluctuations in the currency markets prior to the current relatively stable financial setting. Interestingly Brazilian exporters have been using the system more than their counterparts in Argentina, which, one might argue, merely reflects Brazilian preference for dealing in their own currency, whereas Argentine businessmen may be more comfortable with dollars than with pesos. However, because Brazil is Argentina’s main trading partner, and because Argentina has repeatedly postponed the full implementation of “local currencies swap” to promote bilateral trade, Brasilia is now threatening Buenos Aires to take action with the WTO for imposing non tariff barriers to trade thereby demonstrating the actual intentions of the Brazilian government which appears to flex muscles utilizing economic tools. In this connection, one should recall that the last Doha round of talks failed when it was very close to a successful conclusion in light of the last minute switch of the Brazilian position on "Protectionism" thereby upsetting not only Argentina but also India, which represents Brasilia’s closest ally in Asia as well as one of the largest importers of Brazilian Ethanol.

As such, either spreading neo-Marxist ideals within a region scarcely prepared to embrace its inevitable totalitarian populist values or promoting questionable ideals of “economic integration” whereas fomenting discord in international forums, Venezuela AND Brazil proceed with alleged "common plans" without any actual regional consensus, each pursuing completely disparate and unrealistic goals in order to be poised, in the long run, to achieve their hidden agendas; thereby rendering most “agreements” between these nations as inevitable sources of significant conflict.

São Paulo City - Brazil's Heart, Hope, and Pride

Nobody could have expected, over 460 years ago, that the tiny remote village named “São Paulo do Piratininga” founded at the margins of Tiete river in the newly establish Portuguese colony in South America was destined to become the greatest, most important indisputable metropolis of the entire region. Yet, in 1711, São Paulo officially became a city, which, in the 19th century, experienced a flourishing economic prosperity, brought about through coffee exports, culminated with the eventual development of a major industrial center by the middle of the 20th, when it bypassed Rio de Janeiro as Brazil’s largest, wealthiest and most diverse metropolis, thereby exploding into not only the quintessential center of the nation’s culture and overall development, but also the Financial capital of Latin America.

Regardless of the nature of the individuals who were enticed to this amazing metropolis - migrants or tourists, workers or students – or their reasons for migrating to its heart, the wonderful city of São Paulo was molded by their dreams in such a fashion as to represent today the shining pride of Brazil’s achievements and expectations for its great future.

A Brazilian Constitutional Monarchy

This would be the role of the Prime Minister - the holder of executive power who, although in charge of His/Her Majesty's Government, would fall under the democratic control of Congress . The sovereign, however, would play a unique role since he/she would provide impartial non-political support vis-à-vis various aspects of public life.

THE SIGNIFICANCE OF (RELIGIOUS) OBJECTS VIS-À-VIS THE POWER OF THE MIND VERSUS “FAITH” OR “MIRACLES”

The key to peaceful contentment (as well as the far more important goal of Reducing the quantity and/or scope of Human Conflicts) lies with mankind’s willingness to completely eliminate ALL types/versions of primitive, absurd, hate inspiring mythological sects (a.k.a. “religious faiths) from the fabric (and every aspect) of human societies. An effort which will not be attained until such time when the overwhelming predominance of human IGNORANCE, which renders mankind to blindly engage into a form of psychological voluntary slavery, whereby the “ideological Master” demands absolute obedience (since it emanates from a divine being) and engage into absurd sets of dogmatic beliefs in order to attain “salvation” without the ability or expectation of EVER question any principle or tenet, lest he/she may be deemed blasphemous or – worse – an Infidel!

In addition, because ALL remaining primitive, “mythological sects” (a.k.a. religious institutions) invariably contain fundamentally significant sets of rather DISTINCT (IF not outright opposite) ecclesiastical concepts, “divine dictates or commands”, not to mention the types (and scope) of SINS, all of which representing the KEY to the (real) TRUTH and/or the “righteous path” (often the SOLE path) towards a so-called "salvation", these Sects ultimately provide (in the long run) the “raw material” for a wide variety of antagonizing, irreconcilable positions as stipulated by competing philosophies, often also automatically implying that all other competing religions (and their infidel followers) are either blasphemous or evil!

A deeper significant analysis of current and historical conflicts is bound to stipulate that these fundamental and irreconcilable religious distinctions have been systematically and historically the underlying trigger (openly or concealed) behind the source(s) of most wars across our planet.

Moreover, because during some key time periods (at various locations) of our known History, such religious institutions were either led or influenced by clever, deviant and powerful clerics/priests/imams who were in a position to manipulate the ignorant millions of “faithful believers” (often to accomplish selfish, hidden agendas) vis-à-vis the previously mentioned irreconcilable amalgamation of primitive distinctions, the tragic end result of which often culminated with the incalculable suffering, torture, and/or extermination of thousands (even millions) of innocent victims!

Yet, there are ultra-liberal intellectuals who advocate the idyllic notion whereby "the key to peaceful contentment lies in opening the symbols of the world's religions to everyone" not only reflects exceeding levels of naïveté, but also implicitly adheres and feeds the very archaic institutions responsible to the ignorance, the hatred, and ultimate unhappiness of the masses of whichever culture.

The actual underlying significance behind such views, whereby religious objects would "miraculously" provide the necessary strength for individuals to attain "inner peace" originates rather in an entirely different factor, namely: the Power of the Human Mind. Indeed, although modern science remains unable to fully explain the source of such intangible abilities – despite the never ending flow of amazing discoveries – it is clear that our brains are the true agents which provide the intrinsic capability for anyone to bring to fruition a wide variety of great accomplishments if/when accessing their “inner power” which derives from strong beliefs or convictions (as opposed to “faith” or “miracles”) by successfully utilizing certain "symbols" (often incorrectly associated with iconic artifacts) towards the accomplishment of certain objectives considered extremely hard or nearly impossible.

When a President lacks Composure and Discipline (Translation)

Undoubtedly, the current Brazilian President appears to be inept for leading even a Neighborhood Carnival club, since he does not appear to possess either the moral composure or the necessary intellectual background. Indeed, nearly every time this President makes a public appearance – in every speech and in every gesture – it becomes increasingly obvious that he lacks the expected upbringing and most basic education required for any Leader; in spite of the self-delusional claims of his supporters, praising his questionable deeds, that one could scarcely identify anything else as “more democratic” than a “so-called” former machinist being elected to occupy the nation’s most prominent and visible role.

The most recent “show” performed by Lula during Carnival in the “Sambódromo” (a Samba Pavilion) in Rio de Janeiro, whereby the Nation’s Leader distributed condoms to the populace at large, represented a rather sad, distressing, and revolting affair; and because the State Governor along with the hosting city’s Mayor stood side by side their “boss”, they appeared to have been subdued to the role of gloomy servants in attendance of their “ruler”.

Such an event was sad because it appeared as if the Brazilian State were providing “blessings” to popular orgies and cheap sexual intercourse - whereas it might be considered appropriate for the State to operate in an unqualified fashion, under these circumstances, it is quite another matter when the national authorities appear to be encouraging shameful and/or otherwise questionable activities; it was distressing because the President’s conduct flagrantly disregarded the bare minimum pre-requisites for the type of composure expected from any Head of State, who should always at least appear to be attempting to follow protocol; finally, it was revolting because one must necessarily compare this lame “presidential distribution” - allegedly done in full support of the Brazilian Ministry for Health - vis-à-vis the inexcusable appalling conditions which unfortunately plague and prevail most Public Hospitals (designed for attending poor citizens in need of assistance).

While the Brazilian society has been suffering from the serious consequences of a growing Moral Weakness of unprecedented scale, it has the further misfortune of having a Supreme Leader lacking moral composure, and whose questionable deeds provide the people the worst possible example. Most importantly, this most recent disgraceful episode represents yet another evidence – among several previous reproachable events – that the Labor Administration under “Lula” does not appear to have any conception as to how a government should efficiently utilize (limited) public resources, the sole objective of which should always take into account nothing more or less than the Welfare of the Nation.

TRUE BLUE BRAZILIANS - The Armed Forces and the Republic

Following its independence from Portugal in 1822 the political entity called the “Empire of Brazil” emerged as a constitutional monarchy led by the Franco-Portuguese lineage of Orleans e Bragança. According to some historians, the premature termination of this promising South American monarchy and the subsequent foundation of the Republic in 1889 came about primarily as a reactionary development following the abolishment of the slavery in 1888. Because the subsequent loss of slave labor invariably cast the final blow to the political (and economical) interests of the existing Oligarchy - the power base of the regime – some of their key members shifted patronage towards the emerging republican movement, which had arisen from within undisciplined factions of the armed forces.

Taking into account the subsequent destabilizing chain of events, particularly the increasing schism between the monarchist and republican factions within the Brazilian Army, on November 15, 1889 the Monarchy was overthrown during a military Coup d’état successfully led by Marshal Deodoro da Fonseca, the nation’s first President. This significant political development not only replaced the country’s system of government but also inescapably altered the very fabric of its political-culture… Because these dramatic events triggered a relatively long period of “order and progress” (the national logo stamped upon the newly created flag), the concept of a “Military coup d’état” became historically and correctly identified with peace, stability and security.

Following this period (called the “New Republic”), the Brazilian nation twice fell into disarray because of international “philosophical contagion” resulting either from dangerous destabilizing trends spilling from its closest neighbors (Argentina’s Peronist movement) or from concealed endeavors by a global Super Power to perpetrate direct political intervention (the USSR’s geo-political aspirations during the 1960’s). Unquestionably, both incidents (actual and/or potential) represented a significant peril to peace and liberty; yet, each threat was duly addressed and controlled, directly or indirectly, by brave Brazilian patriots - in uniform – who did not refrain from taking whatever steps deemed necessary to readily perform their solemn duty, and rescue the Nation from dangerous foreign interference.

Because the current Brazilian government is led by an increasingly dubious administration with socialist inclinations, the national order and integrity appears to be once again endangered; for its primary elected representative (the leader of a questionable political party) has been gradually falling under the influence of Neo-Marxist, Bolivarian alien elements, thereby potentially exposing the Nation to the perilous northerly wind blowing from Caracas.

Consequently, I fear that the time may have arisen for the Brazilian valiant saviors to contemplate yet another rescue, and carry out whatever may be necessary, at any cost, to save the Brazilian nation one more time!

ALTERNATE UNIVERSE - DREAMING OF AN IMPERIAL (ROMANTIC) 21st CENTURY

The absurd, unsuitable, and overwhelming weight of a technological, fast paced existence within any major metropolitan Western center during the 21st Century is nearly intolerable for the few remaining romantic souls who long for the simplicity of life during the early days of the industrial age… Gadgets, circuits, connections and speed not only twist but also infect the human condition by insulting its very nature… Indeed, nearly every issue appears exceedingly disagreeable, distasteful and/or distressing; at best the entire landscape of modern urban society emerge as a rather unappealing experience, which unquestionably triggers or exacerbates the overall sense of “malaise”, fear, and great discomfort afflicting millions of unwitting victims everywhere today…
For those who worship the Past, most events and nearly all issues currently endured by most metropolitan citizens would indubitably have been signficantly assuaged in case the noble Houses of Windsor, Romanov, and Habsburg were still in charge of their respective monarchies today, and had never lost their grip on power (naturally I have deliberately excluded the Prussian Hohenzollerns for trouble would always have emerged in some nefarious fashion from Berlin - if any Kaiser is permitted to consolidate power over the entirety of Germany – as opposed to remaining confined to the much smaller Prussian Kingdom – unless of course inevitable serious “issues” were somehow much earlier addressed during a Major European conflict – a “War of three Emperors between 1870 and 1885 - concluding with the complete defeat of the Prussian forces, as opposed to our historical World War I in 1914). In such an “alternate world” the United Kingdom (along with France under Napoleon III) would have financed and supported the Russian & Austro-Hungarian empires (a Russia where the State Duma would have been permitted to function and an Austria where Archduke Rudolf would have been the Emperor) to defeat Prussia, thus preventing Otto von-Bismarck (who would have been executed) from creating a German state and further militarizing Prussia.

If these majestic Houses had not “fallen from grace” (which categorically would have also included a Orleans & Bragança sitting at the Brazilian Throne at the “Imperial Municipality of the Court – as Rio was once named), the current Islamic threat (rooted upon an insolvable Arab-Israeli conflict) along with the current financial chaos, which has brought our civilization to the brink of bankruptcy, would not have arisen. Indeed, because the 20th century would have been entirely distinct from what we learned from the History books (NO great depression – NO rise of National Socialism – NO independent Middle Eastern or North African states – NO Soviet Union –and a much less prominent USA) there would not have been any splitting of the atom in the 1940’s, nor any space travel in the 1950’s, transistors would not have been invented around 1960, while personal computers (let alone the internet) would have remained in the realm of Science Fiction...

Rather, we would, most likely, have been accustomed to pleasant, comfortable two-day long crossings of the Atlantic aboard magnificently furnished floating Airships from “Lufthansa, British Caledonian or Pan American; using elegant Rail Express Services to travel inside our respective continents; utilizing gracious metallic telephones that require Human Operators to make connections; and listening to Radio Broadcasts while sending one another telegrams...

If my dream scenario were to have come to fruition, Planet Earth would have been a much more agreeable place in 2009: much more peaceful, elegant and civilized than what we have in its stead…

In addition to his assertive, self-controlled nature, inherent inclination to Reason & Compassion along with stimulating ideals, President Obama also appears to possess a certain ethereal quality which automatically mollifies everyone, including some of the enemies and opponents of our nation - even if after a fashion, and for a limited amount of time...

Indeed, by electing Mr. Obama these United States have undergone significant transformation, and acquired a brand new “face” while reviving an old source of “inspiration & ideals", and rendering the Land of George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, and JFK once again worthy of global respect & admiration!

The ideal approach for the inhabitants of our small blue planet at this rather significant point in World History, would be the collective adoption of minor steps towards “hope”… If only mankind could take advantage of the potential for monumental changes, which suddenly appeared lying ahead of us, ever since the astounding results of the 2008 American Presidential election were announced, humanity might surprise itself as well as the rest of the Universe...

Provided Mr. Obama "does the walk" as magnificently well as he articulates so many noble ideals, provided all Americans make a collective effort, and truly endeavor to contribute, by joining this ethereal wave of Hope hovering upon a blue horizon, Martin Luther King’s and John Lennon’s dreams might even materialize…

THE BATTLE OF TWO DEMONS – PALESTINIANS vs. ISRAELIS

Any individual familiar with my views on matters involving religious extremism (particularly fundamentalist/orthodox/evangelical Muslims, Jews & Christians) will surely confirm that I would never consider defending or sponsoring of the Palestinian cause; yet, undoubtedly brain washed by BBC America’s biased reports regarding the brutal (albeit it could be viewed as occasionally necessary) Israeli response to Palestinian missile attacks, I must concede that the Israeli reaction included acts must be deemed “excessive”.

On the other hand, bearing in mind the classical psychological case study whereby some abused children become psychopathic abusers themselves when they reach adulthood, one should view the behavior of Israeli (vis-à-vis the massacre of Jews during the Second World War) under the same light… Indeed, because the Jewish segment in Palestine has been oppressing the Palestinian and occupying some of their claimed lands for about six decades, I must partially “empathize” with those who classify Hamas missile attacks from into Israel as a justified act of self-defense (of oppressed peoples towards their invaders).

Yet, the bottom line is quite simple: both sides are to blame as both elements consist of extremely intolerant individuals who will never, EVER accept any settlement and thereby impose upon the world the nefarious spill-over consequences of their never-ending, pointless, irreconcilable struggle. The issue turns even more distressing, when one takes into account that the main underlying reason for their endless conflict is the ever imposing, always terrifying and unquestionably ridiculous & irrelevant issue of religion…

Consequently, because about 60% of Islamic and Jewish elements are intolerant religious militant, as far as I am concerned, their self-destruction in endless bloody warfare (Mohamed versus Moses) should be henceforth ignored by the rest of the world…

If the Sensible, Reasonable peoples of Earth were to eliminate ALL religions TOMORROW, by NEXT WEEK this planet would move significantly closer towards World Peace.

A Tribute for a Great Brazilian Hero: General Osório, the Marquis of Herval – Bicentennial Celebration

The Brazilian Nation proudly celebrates in 2008, with great affection, the birth of one of its most memorable sons - the esteemed Marquis of Herval (born in May 10, 1808, at his Mother’s Ranch in the state of Rio Grande do Sul), who would grow to mark its place in the nation’s History as General Osório.

All Brazilian patriots, who conscientiously qualm about the future of their country in times of “great peril”, would undoubtedly honor the historical significance of valiant individuals whose lives and examples had profound influence upon the formation of their very character. Consequently, I feel compelled to wholeheartedly join my compatriots by warmly remembering this greatest of all heroes, who represents a Models of Courage and Valor whose life-time devotion is responsible not only for the strengthening of its institutions, but for contributing for the creation of the national identity!

After spending his entire youth in dedication for the service of his country, the Marquis’ greatest contributions transpired at an advanced age, when courage and valor became legendary among Brazilian and allied soldiers during the War of the Triple Alliance, a.k.a. Paraguayan War (whereby Argentina, Brazil, and Uruguay. Defeated Paraguay - 1864-1870).

The example of this great Brazilian enhances the absence of wisdom and patriotism noteworthy in the deplorable state of the current Brazilian political arena, where corruption, deception and weakness abounds vis-à-vis the dangerous ideological menace posed by Venezuela and Cuba, whose increasing influence in Brasilia not only alarms the nation but jeopardizes the national honor, peace and integrity…

Yet, echoing the views of General Gilberto Baborsa de Figueiredo,

I trust that Brazil is much bigger than the feeble entity represented by “these people without patriotism, honor, and character” that currently infest Brazilian politics today. Similar to this illustrious general, I firmly believe in the capacity of people to react against great adversity, as already demonstrated in diverse episodes of our history. Although we believe that the rule of law, along with the existing democratic mechanisms should enable Brazilians to revert this perverse situation, because Brazil deserves our collective faith in its future, it also demands close monitoring!

THE RISE & FALL OF DOMINANT GLOBAL POWERS

According to ancient historical records, Sumer (located in southern Mesopotamia – a.k.a. the Cradle of civilization) is generally recognized as the earliest nation which successfully assumed a hegemonic position on Earth for a significant period of time. The Sumerians, however, were in due course eliminated by their exceedingly more powerful northern neighbors in Assyria, which, along with its successors in Babylon contested Egypt for role of super power for several decades. Likewise, these were replaced by Persia which ruled the overwhelming majority of all recognized territories of the era for quite some time. Yet, partly due to their inability to eliminate opposition and fully control all of the emerging Greek states, the Persians were eventually succeeded by the glorious the Roman Empire as the global dominant power; such prominent status became uncontested only after their successful elimination of Carthage during the Second Punic War; after which Rome hold sway over the entire “known world” for nearly seven centuries (an achievement which none of its successors has been, so far, capable of emulating).

With the fall of the Roman Empire, the (Christian) Byzantine and ultimately its successor (Islamic) Ottoman Empire became the commanding ruler of Western Civilization in Constantinople (now Istanbul); thus becoming the sole shining beacon of knowledge, culture and sophistication for centuries (west of a far remote, isolated China) until the emergence Islamic Caliphates of Cordoba and Baghdad. Together, these Islamic Super Powers (standing in sharp contrast with its modern counterpart) upheld and further developed all knowledge rescued from a brutalized Medieval Europe, which had regressed into the darkest pits of barbarism under the powerful grip of dogmatic catholic oppression.

Due to the influence of its progressive neighbors in Cordoba, Portugal eventually come to light as a major Maritime Power, often perceived as the first sign of a re-emerging Europe after centuries of Medieval “darkness”, the bold, adventures Portuguese, the first European navigators to venture beyond the vastness of the Atlantic Ocean and circumventing the African continent, also epitomize the earliest signs of independent thought, thus laying the foundations of a very long, valiant struggle of Science and “Reason” against the dogmatic religious intolerance of the oppressive catholic church…

With the upsurge of the Italian Renaissance and the following Neo-Classical era, the world witnessed the rise of Spain and France as the prevailing Sovereign States on planet Earth, despite the remaining nefarious influence of the Catholic Church in both royal courts at Madrid and Paris. Due to the efforts and sacrifices of many heroes, the Spanish and French explorers were capable to start disseminating relatively free artistic marvels, early scientific discovery and even the some of the earliest examples in Freedom of Expression (a quintessential western trait), while at the same time plundering the resources and victimizing the natives of the vast new territories in order to solidify their role of Dominant World Powers.

At the close of the Seventeenth Century, following a long, bloody epoch of religious conflicts, the development of Political Philosophy along the concept of “Liberty” enabled the British Empire to surface as the third Global Super Power (following Rome & Spain). Despite its inevitable blunders in terms of socio-economic exploitation, the relatively benign British Imperialism along with a significantly less intolerant Anglican church, spread the seeds of “freedom” and “representative government” whereas establishing the foundation for a world where Slavery became illegal (1806).

Similar to its historical predecessors, at the dawn of the Twentieth Century, the gradual decline of Great Britain as the World’s main power was further exacerbated, notwithstanding its enormous wealth, naval force, and sizable colonial territories. Yet the highly sophisticated British ruling classes were self-delusional in their inability to recognize the upcoming downfall until compelled to face reality, immediately after the Great War (1914-18), given the overwhelming losses sustained and subsequent economic deterioration.
As a result of direct assistance from the United States of America, which had been gradually flexing muscles in the background since the 1870’s, the United Kingdom managed to avoid financial melt-down; but was rapidly replaced as Global Leader by its very economic-military rescuers, notwithstanding the American refusal to partake in the Versailles Peace Treaty of 1919. Nevertheless, Washington’s newly enhanced global status was soon diluted by the emergence of Union of Soviet Socialist Republics in 1945, when the American government was compelled to share such prominent role with its “former allies” after their combined victory against the Axis Powers.

Although the former Soviet Union and the United States ruled supreme during most of the previous century, analogous to their historical predecessors, both nations inevitably witnessed their decline, in spite of opposing ideologies. Whereas the USSR suddenly crumbled in 1991, when their “union” disintegrated and their “colonies” were lost, the USA’s fall from grace has been significantly more gradual. Yet, regardless of a brief period of “revival” during the Reagan & Clinton years, I daresay that the tragic historical events that transpired on September 11, 2001 are bound to be eventually identified by future historians as the official benchmark closing the “Era of American Predominance”.
Nearly identical to the backstage upsurge of North America during the late Nineteenth century, in “copy-cat” format, the People’s Republic of China appears to be “setting the foundations” to make its claim in the prominent role of World Super Power, as it has been aggressively poising itself as the next Global Leader – yet, I daresay the Chinese Communist Party does not seem to be moving along in the same discrete fashion as its predecessor, exactly one century ago.

THE BRAZILIAN COUP D’ETAT OF 1964

The 1964 Brazilian coup d'état was conducted by the Brazilian military in late March 1964 against President João Goulart, who had recently succeed the allegedly deranged, democratically elected Jânio Quadros (a.k.a. Jango) in 1963 (according to some sources, Mr. Goulart resigned due to reasons of “Force Majeure”).

The entire ordeal really started in 1963 when Military forces (army/navy/air force) “persuaded” Jango into a compromise, with the congress, whereby the presidential powers would be reduced through the approval of a constitutional amendment changing Brazil into a parliamentary democracy with Jango as a weakened head of state. Yet, Mr. Quadros appears to have outmaneuvered the Brazilian military by re-instating the presidential system by calling a “National Referendum”.

The crux of the issue lies in the fact that Jango, in all fairness to the upper-level, right wing military elements of the time, was undoubtedly a “closet” socialist during the height of the cold war, around the time of the Cuban missile crises. In fact, Jango was politically isolated, in view of his tragic misjudgment (in fact, also a series of contradictory missteps) of conducting a completely independent (and potentially dangerous) foreign policy. Because he openly criticized the Bay of Pigs invasion by the US, while at the same time also (openly) criticizing the Cuban regime of Fidel Castro during the Cuban Missile Crisis, Mr. Quadros appeared misleading to BOTH Washington and Moscow! Such naïveté, during a time when the Bi-Polar Geo-political game was on the brink of another World War, along with the pending Domino theory suggesting that all Latin American countries would fall one after another in case Brazil followed Cuba. In a continues attempt to be fair towards all the parties involved (the US administration, NATO, and the upper echelon of the Brazilian Military), I must concur with this point of view, given the typical, devious stratagems which the KGB (under advisement of the Soviet politburo) was capable of accomplishing.

The coup thrust Brazil into a military dictatorship lasting until the election of Tancredo Neves in 1985.

A Soviet Earth (in an Alternate Universe) - Another Conjecture

Although many Brazilian citizens may disagree, I am convinced that, in the event the Brazilian military (with CIA support) had NOT interfered in 1964, Mr. Quadros or any eventual successor would invariably have followed the tragic “Cuban Path” and have fallen into the Neo-Trotskyite web of espionage, disinformation, and deceptions set up by the former Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (with the complete, unwavering support of the Brazilian Communist Party).
Furthermore, although Brazil was scarcely anything more significant than a large pawn within the context of the Global Geo-Political arena where the Cold War was unfolding, during the early and middle portions of the Twentieth Century, if the USSR had successfully secured Brazil’s admission into the Eastern Bloc during the 1960’s, World History would have unfolded rather differently… Following the installation of the Brazilian Communist Party in Brasilia, where an enormous Soviet Friendship Center (comprising a Cultural Mission, a KGB Office and a huge Soviet Embassy), all of South America would have turned red within Geo-political strategy maps across the planet; thereby enhancing the power, wealth and influence which Moscow would certainly utilize to further expand its totalitarian grip into all of Africa and most of Asia.

Quite possibly, in another parallel universe where such events DID take place, the United States, Canada and decreasing number of Western-European allies would inevitably become increasingly isolated, poorer, and (possibly also) unable to secure access to middle eastern oil fields. As a result, such unfortunate alternate set of developments, would make it nearly impossible for the decaying NATO members to either to provide the grounds for any “Technological Revolution” (during the 1980-90’s) or to continue matching increased Soviet expenditures in areas ranging from Weapon’s Research & Development, Space Exploration, Espionage, and even Industrial Productivity.

In case the vastness of the MULTIVERSE happens to contain an Alternate Universe where such an unfortunate version of Planet Earth exists, the (former) COMECON Nations (Council for Mutual Economic Assistance) would not only exist in 2008, but its map would also comprise the vast majority of the planet's land mass; representing a world where its oppressed, monitored and ideologically correct inhabitants would “happily” co-exist in a conflict-free Soviet Domain; under such conditions, in the event a skirmish or civil commotion were to emerge anywhere, there would not have been any Network (legally) broadcasting its occurrence in "Latest News Updates", and any “disgruntled” individuals caught “spreading slanders” Against the "United Socialist Front" (or COMECON) would surely be targeted for a speedy enrollment into any of the several "Freedom Psychiatric Centers", conveniently located every where across the globe to serve mankind...

Does The Multiverse Provide A Theory of Everything?
Having rejected the idea for years, some scientists are now saying "yes" to the theory of infinite parallel worlds.
Also known as the Multiverse Theory, the idea is mind boggling when taken to its extreme. It states that there are an infinite number of universes making up all of physical reality. Our world is one of many. While some worlds will be virtually identical to ours, others will be unrecognizable – containing space, time and bizarre forms of exotic matter. In effect, the Multiverse caters for every possible outcome of every single event.
Big Bounce
Far from being the moment of creation that is widely accepted today, the Big Bang may have occurred when two of these bubble universes collided. Our universe could have formed out of the quantum foam of two parent universes. This turns the conventional Big Bang Theory on its head, suggesting that space and time existed well before our universe was ever born.
Tying Up With String Theory
Since Einstein gave us his Theory of General Relativity, and modern day physicists gave us Quantum Mechanics with its String Theory, Hyperspace and Dark Matter – all that remains is to unite these ideas in a Theory of Everything. But how do they fit together? M Theory (in which the M is speculated to mean Master, Mother, Membrane or Matrix among other things) may be the key. Although incomplete, it ties together the five big superstring theories and provides the concept of membranes for an eleventh dimension.

In order to achieve this objective, the “scientific Villain” decided to brilliantly manipulate Space-Time & Gravity, thereby discovering the “secrets of Time Travel”. After conducting some preliminary testing with minor mammals and other primates, our brilliant Villain eventually utilized his formidable contraption in order to reach the Italic peninsula - circa 59 B.C - a few weeks after Julius Gaius Caesar had been elected Consul of the Roman Republic; a few weeks after having solidified an strategic alliance with Pompey (with the offer his own daughter Julia’s hand in marriage) – approximately two decades before the Roman Civil War was “scheduled” to unfold...

After managing a successful meeting with the newly elected Consul, the mischievous scientist using the disguise of a Messenger from Jupiter (the Roman “main God”) bestowed Julius Caesar with the “Gift of Foresight” into a possible “future World” where his own assassination and the eventual downfall of Rome would have been ordained... Therefore, under the clever pretext that gods favored the Consul, our Villain disclosed to Julius the necessary information thereby preventing the unfolding of such distressing events; this gift should be perceived as a token of Jupiter’s favor and was designed to ensure the eternal Glory of Rome under the Guidance of the Consul (soon named Emperor) and his successors, following the wise council of the Divine envoy (who was readily nominated a Roman Senator, Chief Scholar and First Advisor to the Throne)

Unlike most similar Sci-Fi stories (based on “Time Travel”), because of the Multiverse (and its eleven dimensions) and unlike the presumption of the plot’s Creator, the original “time-line” was not endangered despite the Scientist’s Machiavellian deeds… Rather, instead of altering his world’s history, his interference simply triggered the automatic creation of a separate Universe which would unfold along a separate but parallel pathway, alongside the original one, which would proceed impervious of the above-referenced developments in its Ancient Past….

THE ACTUAL STORY
Date - December 5, 2110 AG
In that newly created Universe, following the time when our Villain embarked in his adventure into the mysteries of Time-Space (2008 AD), due to a completely different calendar (based on distinct Time-Keeping conventions) the current year reads 2110 AG – where AG stands for “After” (Julius) “Gaius” (Caesar’s birth).

A group of Privileged school children eagerly trailed their Tutor during a special visit to the oldest Museum on Luna – the site of the very first Roman colony in space – at the center of Roma Novae main module. As the pupils admired the amazing museum’s façade, ancient looking Doric and Ionic columns – the remarkable construction of which had been the first to combine Classical design with the necessary technical requirements of Surface exposed to vacuum and solar radiation - built during the early days of space exploration, a mere 100 years following Planet Rome’s colonization of outer space (400 years ago).

As most young students anywhere in the vast Roman Empire, the youngsters were often querying their impatient History Preceptor about nearly everything spotted along their pathway, particularly after reaching the old Lunar Temples of Jupiter, Minerva and Dionysius, where the tutor suddenly finally locates the museum’s section devoted for Ancient Terran History and Early Mythological Creeds. Relived for reaching the intended area – specially selected for his monthly “in locus” class – after examining priceless Sumerian, Babylonian and Greek statues, as well as various artifacts and papyrus from Terra – which survived not only the rigors of time but also the challenge of an arduous space tow to Luna aboard an ancient Space-Galley Freighter, the teacher leads the curious pupils towards the section hosting the “Early Atlantican” religions (Roman-given denomination for America - settled by the Romans in 957 AC), when he is suddenly interrupted, once again, by the most curious of the little rascals in the group – the elder son of the Lunar Consul.

The lad was rudely pointing to a curious looking wooden object nearly concealed by a statue of an equally ancient Roman Governor – it was a tiny cross… Annoyed, after taking a particularly deep sigh, the History Preceptor decides to indulge the prominent youngster, mostly due to the influence of his father, and replies in a surprised manner: “Are you actually curious about THAT small contraption? Ah, silly boy! The wooden object represents nothing more that a mere mythological symbol associated with an obscure ancient sect of maniacal rebels… If my memory serves, I understand such criminals were followers of one of the first Terrorists in recorded history – a bizarre criminal from Judea who was executed about two millennia ago”.

When further questioned whether the historical rebels had engaged any followers in Judea, the frustrated tutor reprimanded: “Well, according to historical data, I understand there was a small group of followers, even in Rome! Yet in order to prevent further dissemination of their dangerous beliefs the Empire exterminated most of the fanatics within a few decades, mostly in the Roman main arena of the time: the Coliseum, located in the Imperial Capital on Terra. Now, just concentrate on important issues relating to your studies, and leave aside any further consideration for any such irrelevant issues which bear little or no significant impact upon the course of History!”

Upon pronouncing his lasting words of wisdom, the History Preceptor quickly led-on the excited group of pupils along the vast rooms of the main Lunar Museum.

Insulted, the Prince tore the Portuguese blue and white insignia from his uniform, drew his sword, and swore in the presence of his guard of honor: "By my blood, by my honor, and by God: I will make Brazil free." At the onset of the brutal Twentieth Century, although Great Britain remained the richest and most powerful nation on Earth, the seeds of its pending decline had already been sowed. Conflicts throughout its vast possessions stretching from India to South Africa and the Sudan, along with the rise of American and Prussian military-industrial Might, gradually challenged the Empire’s powerful but gentle predominance… Yet, the British aristocracy remained discussing world issues in London, either meeting at Whitehall or attending Garden tea-parties, unable to conceive and/or concede the remote possibility that their Days of Glory were numbered and that their Brilliant Monarchy was quickly declining into the dusty pages of History…

Despite their refusal to acknowledge or recognize London’s inescapable decline, the inevitable downfall of Empire became irrefutable as soon as the deadly guns of the Great War became “loud and clear”, thereby triggering countless strikes and the eventually loss of colonies, wealth and prestige…
